Dear Mom,

I loved skyping with you and all the Cardons and Hillans! One hour passed way too fast! I had an awesome Christmas day here and our P-day was moved to Christmas eve because we had our Christmas Zone Conference on the 23rd! So it was a great week even though we didnt really start working until Thursday. We are still having trouble getting people to church on sunday. Its pretty frusterating when you confirm and re-confirm with people about going to Sacrament meeting all week and they give you such certainty that they'll go and then we pass by their house and nobody answers or they give a ridiculous excuse, BUT WE ARE NOT GIVING UP! One thing that I I love about this gospel is that if we keep up with the work and continue in diligence to find people to teach and baptize, The Lord will prepare those that need the gospel in their lives and he will place them in our path! We just need to keep working! This time of the year is hard for missionaries to be away from home, friends, and family and it is so easy to get distracted with thinking about what everyone else is doing in their lives. I know that this work that is the work of The Lord and is an unstoppable work and it will continue if we are engaged in it or not, but it will be a lot easier if we lose ourselves in the bring of souls to the great words of God. The scripure that i wanted to share is from 2 Nephi 31:21 (And now, behold, my beloved brethren, this is the away; and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God. And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end. Amen.) This scripture is plainly telling us that this gospel is true and the onyway that man can be saved ant the last days! How great is that that we have the responsability to share this path with the ones that we love such as our friends and family. I love how this gospel has changed my life and I challenge you to share this joy that we have in our lives with one person this week and invite them to church! I might not be able to get anyone to church down here but I know you can there! Start someone's new year off well with church attendence! Love you all and Merry Christmas and Happy new year! Don't give up and make the start of your year awesome with sharing this wonderful happiness that we have with someone you love!
Love, Elder Rucker :)
